Hi Andy,

I wish I had known you would be there! It would have been nice to meet your son too. I'm sure you enjoyed the ride. Next year you should try the 170K version. It is tough, like that second day on the Shenandoah 1200K. I might be around for a little while longer, but my plans don't include any super long rides, just one day events.

Sorry about that little lie at Patten Hill. The way everyone looked when they rolled in, we figured we'd just tell them the climbing was basically over. Of course, a quick glance at the cue sheet reminded those who dared to look that there was still on average 100 vertical feet per mile to the finish in Deerfield.

Great report as usual. Rode the 100K with my son, sorry we missed you. My tires were Gran Bois 30mm too, same pair I rode RM1200 last year. Not sure how these got a reputation as "fragile" seem pretty tough to me. Alex rode his Jamis Eclipse with my Challenge 27mm from Shenendoah, another "fragile" tire. He did fine too.

Is this your last US ride?
